the view

The *Ahem* "view"... outside of the office I am working from currently. That's Brooklyn Decker, tennis ace, Andy Roddick's wife. Lovely couple, very simple, giving and down to earth. Brooklyn's granny was mighty proud she was chosen the 2010 Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl. Apparently it's a big deal.

The picture I posted is much smaller than what I'm actually looking out at BTW. I don't think I'd get any work done this afternoon.

LOL Rose! She does not have an ugly face :) She's absolutely gorgeous, isn't she.

I am not fascinated by NYC, exactly. It's a love hate relationship. Each time I’m back in this city -- not sure I'm going to like it or hate it -- it's the extremes. It’s the case with more than few folks I know. The commonality is that we grew up in small towns. Anyway, stick to your principles / roots and things shall be fine :)

Rosh, you've got issues.

Lay down on the couch and tell me all about your childhood. Let me solve your issues one by one. lol

She's gorgeous but I wouldn't want that as my office view... I'd rather much want something more fashionable... like a big cup of shut the... jk... coffee. ;-)

nice blog btw.

oh i could work just fine. i'd get distracted by big billboards of food. makes me hungry all the time. its food porn i tell ya!

hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go! lool
are you still gazing at the billboard, rosh? yallah enough.

El, bro, do ya really want to hear it all? :D

But seriously though, this city isn't like home. It's fascinating as much as it's complex. It's easy to get to know, as much as it's lost and convoluted. It's complex, yet transparent. So, I never know what to expect. Hence I'm not sure if I'd end up liking it or not. I do miss good 'ol SHJ / UAE.

Anyhoooo mucho mumbo jumbo :)

Elle & Dave, thanks! Welcome to my blog and the view.

MJ, I hear ya! The boards back home, are much nicer. I remember the times stuck in traffic with a growling tummy and looking at those juicy KFC and Pizza boards or a super magnified Chicken shwarmah! Fetish LOL!

Bob. I'll let that pass.

Hi there;
Ouuh a famous lady with graceful body; that view leads to absolute distraction; hope you did your best in focusing Not at that view but at your job :P

Hems, happy a accept a copy from a (gorgeous) woman! Makes it all the more, umm..special :D

Rationality, I didn’t get much done the two days with that view. I don’t think my colleague got much done either, she couldn’t bring herself to eat seeing that gorgeous figure :)

I'd never heard of her until you posted this! Heard of Roddick though - was it Federer who beat him 2 Wimbledons ago...

rosh said...

Yup! Fed beat Rod in the 2009 W final, and I think about 18 other times, in the various stages of a tourno. But all's not lost for Rod, god's blessed him with a more gorgeous wife. See, life does balance / work itself out.

I work in the same building. I found your blog because I might be moving to UAE. How do you compare life here in NYC to UAE?

rosh said...

Hi Anon, small world eh.

Short answer: It depends on your lifestyle and what you're looking for. For instance If you are more in to the NYC party life, then Dubai has similar life style to offer, though perhaps not on an equal scale. If you are into Arts & Culture, then there are the towns that offer such in the UAE, again, not in similar scale.

There are stark similarities, yet plenty of differences in most things -- from public transport, to the driving culture, the multi culturalism to name a few.

For the most part, once you make friends, adapt to the ways how things work in the UAE (not as fluid to NYC, in more than some instances) you shall be comfortable and I believe, should like your tiem in the UAE.

That said, every town has its Cons, and it's up to individuals to adapt as much as possible, yet realize / understand, that the UAE is quite a young place compared to a mature, more thought out and 'seen it all / been through it all' town like NYC.

At the least, living in the UAE shall help understand some aspects of the Eastern world better. I believe, UAE can be one of those places, where East indeed, meets the West.

Happy to respond in detail on the specifics you'd like to know about the UAE. BTW, I assume you're moving due to work? Are you orginally from NYC.

Hi! Yes I'm moving because my husbands company opened a branch in Abu Dhabi. We are thinking of living in Dubai and he would make the commute everyday.

I have lots of questions! I believe your in media correct? How do you compare working in Media in NYC to working in Media in UAE? Are the companies as laid back as here?
