to bahrain

I have always loved my visits to the tiny serene town, Bahrain. My first visit was back in 1982 with mom & dad. I have first cousins who are born, raised and live in Bahrain today. A very close friend who grew up in the UAE and went to school with me in NYC, now lives in Bahrain, where she found the love of her life.

Bahrain was the happening place back in the day, and in so many ways, it still is.

This video of Bahrain is from Ammaro's. Hope you like it as much as I do.

I love it, it brings me to tears watching the beautiful kingdom ripped to pieces. May god bless everyone there and help them out of this misery.

Every Bahraini I met was nice and decent, with no exceptions. It's a beautiful country with really nice people.
May Allah bestow on them, Libya, and all the Arab world peace and stability.

Rosh! Been a long time dude! :)

Faisal, when the whole thing broke in Feb, I was sitting at some airport, watching it all turn out on the tele. It felt surreal. The calm, laid back Bahrain, its people and protesting? Worse, people were being shot at. It made no sense. It brought me tears. I truly don't know the sensitivities involved, but I do pray they come together and stop hurting one another. There is NO harm in listening and helping out one other. It's always been such a lovely place.

El, ditto! Everyone I have met have been so down to earth. In 2007, I spent a week in Bahrain on work, and people were super nice and humble. Also, in some ways Bahrain reminds me of the old SHJ. LOL! I've been in hibernation :)

LOL Rose. I would go if I have to. I don't think the situation is like Egypt or anything. I may drop by in the month May. My friend had a baby, and I must see her. They named her Zoya. She's gorgeous.

newborns are far from being gorgeous. they look like worms.-_-

I hope things will not get worse by May. Shiites have gone so far this time.

May Allah help them. I still could not believe what's happening in Bahrain. Hope they get to their lives soon.
